Comprehensive Speech, Language, and Educational Evaluations.

Our evaluations are based on the areas of suspected disability. Each evaluation is different based on the areas that need to be assessed. Evaluations can include speech, language, communication, handwriting, reading, spelling and math.

Evaluations range in testing time based on each child’s unique needs. Some evaluations can be as quick as one session while more involved complex evaluations can take up to 10 hours.

Evaluations will involve both formal standardized measures
and informal non-standardized measures. Testing is more than simply getting standard scores and percentiles. The evaluation will involve a great deal of analyzation of the testing results to drive the treatment plan, goals and individualized recommendations.

All evaluations will come with a written report for families to use for school districts, physicians or other therapists. We typically recommend starting with a one-hour assessment. We will do our best to evaluate all areas of suspected disability within that hour.

If more time is needed to dig deeper into each area of concern, we can schedule additional assessment sessions. Typically, we can assess one to two areas of concern per hour. We also provide independent education evaluations (IEEs) for families seeking a second opinion from their school district assessments.

Evaluations can involve language samples, home and school observations, parent and teacher interviews, review of medical and school records and direct assessment using standardized and norm referenced assessments.
